Opening Address
Pamela Goldsmith-Jones was first elected Mayor in West Vancouver in November 2005 after serving for one term as Councillor. She was re-elected in November 2008.
Pam was born and raised in West Vancouver where her family has lived for over 100 years. She attended the University of British Columbia and earned her Bachelors and Masters Degrees in Political Science, where she focused on local government.
She is an innovative leader who sets high standards for open government based on her passion for how citizens shape democratic institutions and public policy. She serves on the Mayors’ Council for TransLink, is a Director of Metro Vancouver and E-Comm Boards, and volunteers with non-partisan groups such as Equal Voice, Canadian Women in Communications, The Minerva Foundation and Nite of Hope.
Pam has been married for 26 years and has three children who attend BCIT, Emily Carr University of Art and Design and the University of Victoria.
